The DCE Middle School a place where students begin discovering their interests, building deeper relationships, and developing the skills they’ll need for high school and beyond.

Subject Area
Students will learn about the birth of the earliest civilizations and different regions of the world, focusing on geography, religion, achievements, politics, economics, social structures, and culture.
This is a full-year every-other-day introduction to the Spanish language and culture.
This is a full-year every-other-day introduction to the German language and culture.
Students will have fun while learning how to safely use tools and machines to solve problems using the latest technologies.
Students will study the features and functions of living things in their environments, the processes that support life, and the relationships between organisms.
Music from a wide variety of historical periods and styles will be performed. Attendance at evening concerts and Solo and Ensemble is a required part of this class.
This course will refine skills, teach students new finger patterns, and introduction them to position work and vibrato on the cello and bass.

Students will refine the skills and concepts necessary for performing with a percussion instrument. A variety of musical styles will be studied and performed.

The course is instructed using a problem-solving approach designed to connect mathematics to other disciplines. This option is for students who have successfully completed Honors Math 620 and have the approval of a 6th Grade teacher
Students will explore a variety of math topics including percentages, positive/negative numbers, equations, 2D and 3D shapes and probability models.
